Services

What we build, and how we build it.

Elarion is a development practice, not an advisory. Four kinds of software, plus the two services either side of a build: the analysis that scopes it, and the rescue when one has gone wrong. How you buy any of them is on Ways to work.

What we build

Four kinds of software. Most engagements are one of these, and many touch two.

Custom software

The system a business actually runs on. Usually replacing a spreadsheet that outgrew itself, a shared inbox doing the work of a queue, or a legacy tool nobody can change any more.

  • Case and file management
  • Dispatch and scheduling
  • Reconciliation and variance handling
  • Approval and review workflows

Systems integration

Making systems that were never designed to talk to each other do it reliably — including what happens when one of them is down, slow, or returns something unexpected.

  • ERP and accounting write-back
  • Payroll and billing handoff
  • Document and storage systems
  • Third-party APIs with real failure handling

Workflow automation

Taking a process that currently depends on someone remembering, and making the system responsible for it instead. Deadlines, escalations, state that cannot be skipped.

  • Guarded state machines
  • Deadline and expiry tracking
  • Notification and escalation rules
  • Audit trails that hold up

Governed AI systems

Retrieval, drafting and classification — with governance attached. Approval state, provenance back to a source, and a human in the loop where the cost of being wrong is real.

  • Governed retrieval over your own content
  • Drafting against approved material
  • Document extraction and classification
  • Provenance and approval enforcement

Either side of the build

The analysis that scopes a build, and the assessment when someone else’s has gone wrong. Both can be bought on their own.

Requirements analysis

The Business Analyst work, sold on its own. For a team that needs a specification before deciding who builds it — or already has one and wants to know whether it will survive a fixed quote.

  • Functional design document with acceptance criteria
  • Review of existing requirements: gaps, ambiguity, testability
  • As-is and to-be process mapping
  • Specifications ready to put in front of vendors

Project rescue & audit

A build in trouble, an inherited codebase, or a vendor on the way out. It starts with a fixed-fee assessment of what was intended against what exists — then you decide what happens next, with us or without us.

  • Intended versus actual scope
  • Code and architecture assessment
  • What is salvageable, and what finishing costs
  • Recovery options with trade-offs, not a single verdict

How the build runs

None of this is exotic. It is the baseline that makes a fixed price safe to offer — for you and for us.

Version control and review
Every change on a branch, reviewed before merge. No direct pushes to production.
Automated testing
Acceptance criteria from the specification become tests. That is what makes "done" checkable rather than arguable.
Continuous deployment
Build, test and deploy on a pipeline, so releasing is routine instead of an event.
Environments
Separate development, staging and production. You see it working somewhere safe before it is live.
Observability
Logging and error reporting from day one, because silent failure is the expensive kind.
Change control
Scope changes are written down, priced, and agreed. The specification stays the reference.

The stack

Chosen to be maintainable by whoever comes next — including your own team. We do not build on anything you could not hire for.

Web applications
TypeScript, modern component frameworks, server-rendered where it matters for speed and SEO.
APIs and services
REST and typed contracts, with the integration failure cases designed rather than discovered.
Data
Relational by default. Schema designed during analysis, not improvised during the build.
Infrastructure
Managed cloud hosting sized to the business. No platform team required to keep it running.
AI platform
Retrieval and generation with governance — the approach behind KriftAI, our own governed-AI platform.
