Epicor LumberTrack integration and development.
Integrations, reporting and automation for mills and forest products businesses running LumberTrack — scoped by an analyst who has worked inside it across multiple mills, and built by our engineers.
What we do
- Integrations
- Order, pricing, inventory and invoicing data moving between LumberTrack and finance, Dynamics 365, EDI partners, warehouse systems and handheld scanners — with unit-of-measure conversions and failure cases handled explicitly.
- Reporting
- Reports moved off Crystal onto SQL Server Reporting Services or a modern reporting platform, so they can be changed without fear.
- Automation around the ERP
- Power Automate, Power Apps and SQL automation that removes the rekeying between LumberTrack, invoicing and the spreadsheets that fill the gaps.
- Mill rollouts and upgrades
- Bringing an acquired mill onto the common system, and upgrades delivered through requirements, test strategy, UAT and training.
- Order validation
- Catching bad orders before they reach the mill: deterministic checks for species and grade combinations, units of measure, minimum quantities, treatment and moisture, pricing authority and export paperwork. Where AI is used, it advises; it does not decide.
- Specification
- Requirements and functional specifications for LumberTrack changes, written so they can be quoted and tested.
Where it usually hurts
If one of these sounds familiar, it is the kind of problem we are called in for.
- Tally, board feet and pieces convert differently in three places, and the invoice disagrees with the load.
- Orders arrive with species, grade or treatment combinations the mill cannot supply, and it is caught at the mill rather than at entry.
- Reports live in Crystal, and one person knows how they work.
- An acquired mill runs its own processes, and every month end reconciles two ways of doing the same thing.
- Handheld scanner counts and system inventory drift apart.
Where this experience comes from
Our lead analyst's career history, described by sector — not an Elarion client list. More on the About page.
- Senior business analysis across LumberTrack and Dynamics 365 at a forest products company: supply chain, order management, logistics and invoicing across multiple mills, including rollouts to newly merged mills.
- Crystal Reports migrated to SQL Server Reporting Services; Power Automate, Power Apps and SQL automation in supply chain and invoicing; integration testing across ERP, reporting, finance, handheld scanners, warehouse and work orders.
- A governed order-validation pilot designed for LumberTrack as the system of record: around forty deterministic rules covering pricing authority, credit, export compliance and lumber-specific checks, with a phased path from file extract to live API and EDI write-back.
Questions buyers ask
- Do you work alongside Epicor or our existing partner?
- Yes. Changes that touch the core product are coordinated with whoever supports it. Much of the work — integrations, reporting, automation and the applications around LumberTrack — sits outside the core and does not need to wait for them.
- Do you work with Dynamics 365 as well?
- Yes. LumberTrack alongside Dynamics 365 is a combination we know well, including the integration between the two.
- Can AI help with order entry?
- It can advise — upsell prompts, anomaly flags, truckload fill. It should not decide. The approach we use keeps every approval rule in deterministic code and records why each order was accepted, escalated or rejected.
